You are a powerful example of how OPTAVIA can help change lives and you are an inspiration to others.
In order to protect the Coach Community, the Company, and the OPTAVIA brand, please ensure that you are identifying yourself as an independent OPTAVIA Coach when you are promoting OPTAVIA on social media, as well as any other advertising opportunities (business cards, promotional materials, etc.). Per the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) Endorsement Guides, as you are compensated by OPTAVIA to promote our program, you are required to disclose that you are affiliated with OPTAVIA. Pursuant to Policy Section 3.1 of your Independent OPTAVIA Coach Agreement:
Coaches must conspicuously identify themselves as an “Independent OPTAVIA Coach” or an “Independent Coach with OPTAVIA” in all advertising, telephone directory listings, promotional material, social media postings, and other forums in which they promote OPTAVIA’s products, programs, services, and/or the OPTAVIA business opportunity. Merely identifying oneself as an “OPTAVIA Coach” is not sufficient under the terms of this Policy…. Certified Coaches may include the term “Independent Certified OPTAVIA Coach” when identifying themselves if they have passed the required certification exam.
Again, Coaches must conspicuously identify themselves as an “Independent OPTAVIA Coach” on any social media platform where they promote OPTAVIA (you can do this by reflecting in the “Bio” or “About” section on your social media page OR, in every post in which you promote OPTAVIA, you can include the phrase “Posted by an independent OPTAVIA Coach).
Certified Coaches may include the term “Independent Certified OPTAVIA Coach” or “Independent Certified Coach with OPTAVIA” when identifying themselves, so long as they have passed the required certification exam. For more information on Coach Certification, please see the related article, Certification Exam FAQ’s.
Example (Facebook “Position” names):
Below are examples of “Position” names that “auto-populate” on Facebook. These auto-populated responses are not necessarily compliant, you should only select the proper auto-populated title or input the correct title. Coaches are also permitted (but not required) to include their rank in their title, so long as it's accurate.
Below are some sample images for your reference when updating your social media profiles.
