The Evolution of OPTAVIA Leadership: Team Global

In order to uphold our ideals and integrity as we spread the mission of Optimal Health and Wellbeing in the world, we are expanding our leadership body, Team Global, to include more leaders.  Our goal is to create world class leadership in an environment that allows leaders the opportunity to progress as they desire.  

Team Global now has three progressive tiers:

  1. Team Essential

  2. Team Pursuit

  3. Leadership One 


Team Essential – Gateway to Leadership

Achieving the rank of Global Director is a significant accomplishment. As such, we invite anyone who reaches and maintains Global for three consecutive months to become a member of Team Essential to help create Optimal Health and Wellbeing in the world.   

Note: Prior to July 2017, anyone who has reached Global Director is invited to participate to reengage and progress in both their leadership and business growth.

  

Requirements to join (starting August 1, 2017)

  • Qualify as Global Director for 3 consecutive months
  • Review & agree to the Team Global Values

Note: Prior to August 2017, anyone who has been previously qualified a Global Director will be grandfathered into Team Essential.


Team Pursuit – Seeking Growth

For those who decide to take their leadership and business to the next level, we offer Team Pursuit. Members of Team Pursuit are driven to move toward achieving FIBL and becoming world class leaders as part of Leadership One. These individuals are in the hunt, growing personally, growing their businesses, and committed to setting aside personal/team agendas and become all about the OPTAVIA team. This group will be a working group, dedicated to facilitating leadership transformations with the Global Team. 


Members may be asked to:

  • Go through intensive leadership training
  • Participate in the delivery of OPTAVIA Learn content (training) at events, such as workshops or on Monday night leadership webinars
  • Test various initiatives as requested
  • Work with members of Team Essential to foster leadership development and growth

Note: Prior to August 2017, anyone who has been previously been invited and inducted into Team Global will be grandfathered into Team Pursuit.


Requirements to join (starting August 1, 2017)

  • Membership on Team Essential. Note: Can be in qualification for Team Essential and Team Pursuit concurrently
  • GV 150,000 or above for three consecutive months
  • Earning $10,000 or above for three consecutive months
  • Submit a letter of intent via application link, stating their intent to join Team Pursuit and why they desire to do so
  • Provide one letter of recommendation from a Team Pursuit member

Maintenance requirements:

  • Qualify as Global Director or higher 3 of 6 months, rolling


Leadership One – World Class Field Leadership

The highest level of field leadership team is Leadership One.   Leadership One leaders are truly conscious leaders who see the OPTAVIA Mission as their personal mission and embody the 6 Habits of Transformational Leadership.  Leadership One members set the standard for transformational leadership in the organization and facilitate leadership growth and development throughout.   

Members may be asked to:

  • Participate and lead intensive leadership training
  • Collaborate on the development and delivery of OPTAVIA Learn content (online, at events, and via other means)
  • Provide feedback and insight on various projects and priorities
  • Work with members of Team Pursuit and Team Essential to foster leadership development and growth

Requirements to join

Qualitative Measurements:

  • Display mature leadership and influence through the 6 OPTAVIA Habits of Transformational Leadership
  • Exhibit unique perspectives on how their business is built, display different skill sets in those activities, and as a cohesive group, offer a diverse perspective on the OPTAVIA Coach community
  • Representative of multiple teams and organization throughout the community to ensure diversity
  • Are open, coachable, agile, and function well in group settings and create efficient and productive outputs as true team players
  • In good standing with the company, and have no outstanding violations or investigation


Quantitative Measurements:

  • Qualify as a FIBL 9 consecutive months
  • 1 year membership on Team Pursuit
  • Submit a formal letter, stating their intent to join Leadership One and why they desire to do so
  • Provide two letters of recommendations from their Leadership One support team members


Conduct requirements for Leadership One members:

  • Embrace and champion the brand, both privately and publically; are coachable and open, and make decisions with the brand as the top priority  
  • Actively participate and be fully present in the OPTAVIA Community
  • Engage in calm, poised, non-emotional, and productive discussions
  • Be open to self-growth and leadership development opportunities
  • Express fair and honest feedback which represents their and their teams’ perspectives
  • Be respectful of others and differences of perspective
  • Refrain from lobbying behind the scenes through a coalition
  • Adhere to strict confidentially on topics discussed
  • Understand their role in the organization
  • Make themselves available as needed to ensure projects are completed and key matters addressed in a timely manner

Note: Each potential member of Leadership One will be vetted by the entire leadership body to confirm members.
